In this scheme, 112.4 lakh houses were given permission on 9 June 2021, of which 82.5 houses are being prepared for construction and 48.31 lakhs have been constructed and given to their entitled. A total of Rs 7.35 lakh crore will be spent by the government for the construction of houses. The government will be able to give their own house to the poor families at the expense.

Eligibility for Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana:-
- To take advantage of this scheme, the age of the person should be between 21 to 55 years.
- The applicant should not have any house before.
- The application should not have already got the benefit of this scheme.
- The person should have Aadhar card.
Individuals are divided into 3 classes according to their income:-
- EWS- The salary of the applicant should be between 0 to 3 lakh rupees.
- LIG- The salary of the applicant should be from 3 lakh to 6 lakh rupees.
- MIG- The annual salary of the applicant should be from 12 lakh to 18 lakh.
- The main member of the families in EWS and LIG group should be women.
